Physical Education (PE)
At Jamiatul Ummah School, we believe that all students should be participating in high quality, inclusive and enjoyable Physical Education. The curriculum is designed to engage all students and to introduce them to a broad range of physical competences. Our goal is to ensure that every student leaves with a love of physical activity and the necessary skills to engage in lifelong participation.
Physical Education at Jamiatul Ummah School plays a significant part in all aspects of school life, in both the mainstream academic curriculum and through its far-reaching involvement in extra-curricular activities.
There are two PE periods each week at both Key Stage 3 and 4, during which students participate in a range of different activities, which include:
- Athletics
- Basketball
- Cricket
- Hockey
- Football
- Table Tennis
- Swimming (where bookings are possible)
In addition to PE lessons, at Jamiatul Ummah School our pupils participate in various extra-curricular activities and competitions, including:
- Tower Hamlets Hockey Competition
- Tower Hamlets Table Tennis Competition
- Tower Hamlets Football Competition
- United Madrasa Football Competition
- United Madrasa Athletics Competition
Our PE lessons mainly take place outdoors; however, we have our own small indoor PE hall where some activities are conducted.
